Follow-Ups
Post-Showing Follow-Up Email
Draft personalized follow-up emails after property showings that move buyers toward a decision.
Best for: Any agent after showings Works with: ChatGPT, Claude
The follow-up email after a showing is where most agents drop the ball. A generic “Thanks for coming, let me know if you have questions” does nothing. This prompt generates a specific, helpful follow-up that references what you discussed and nudges the buyer toward a next step.
The Prompt
Write a post-showing follow-up email for a real estate agent.
Buyer Name: [CLIENT NAME]
Property Shown: [PROPERTY ADDRESS]
List Price: [PRICE]
Showing Date: [DATE]
Buyer's Reaction: [POSITIVE / MIXED / NEGATIVE - briefly note what they liked and any concerns]
Specific Concerns Raised: [e.g., "worried about the small yard", "loved the kitchen but questioned the price", "wanted a bigger garage"]
Competing Properties: [Any other homes they're considering, if known]
Agent Name: [YOUR NAME]
Write a follow-up email that:
1. Opens with a specific callback to something positive they said during the showing (not just "thanks for coming")
2. Addresses their top concern directly - provide information, context, or a solution
3. If applicable, compare favorably to competing properties they mentioned
4. Suggests a clear next step based on their interest level:
- If positive: suggest next steps toward an offer (comparable analysis, neighborhood deep-dive, second showing)
- If mixed: offer to address concerns with more info or suggest a comparable property
- If negative: acknowledge it wasn't the right fit and propose 2 alternative properties
Keep it under 200 words. Tone: professional, warm, attentive. Show that you listened. No generic language.
How to Use It
- Send within 2 hours of the showing while the property is still fresh in their mind.
- Take quick notes on your phone during or right after each showing so you have specific details for the follow-up.
- If you showed multiple properties in one day, send a separate follow-up for each with a ranking summary email at the end.
- Always include one piece of information they did not have at the showing (a comp, a fact about the neighborhood, an answer to a question they asked).
Example Output
The AI will generate a concise, personalized email that references specific details from the showing, addresses the buyer’s stated concerns with useful information, and proposes a logical next step. It reads like a thoughtful message from an agent who was paying attention, not a template.
